The manual is intended to be an overview of the artificial lift programs now being used to produce oil from wells that have diminished or ceased flow by means of natural pressure in the reservoir. It covers design considerations in planning any program of artificial lift and a brief description of each program gas lift, plunger lift, sucker rod pumping, hydraulic pumping, and electric submersible pumping.
